Magic Roulette - Part 5

woke up the next morning with a pounding headache and a lingering sense of shame. As I opened my eyes, the sunlight streaming through the curtains only served to intensify the throbbing in my head. Memories of the previous night flooded back, and I cringed at the thought of my reckless behavior.

Slowly sitting up, I took a moment to collect myself. The room around me was unfamiliar. It took me a few seconds to realize that I was still in Jessica's body. The reality of the situation hit me like a ton of bricks, and I felt a profound sense of unease settle in the pit of my stomach.

The events of the night before were a blur. I think I ended up blacking out after vomiting. I shook off the feeling of embarrassment and tried to gather myself.

I glanced around the room, trying to piece together the unfamiliar surroundings. Posters adorned the walls, and a desk cluttered with books and personal belongings stood against one corner. It seemed like I was in Miles' bedroom, where he and Jessica had been having their own fun the previous night.

I reached for Jessica's phone, hoping to find some answers or messages that could guide me through this bewildering situation. As I unlocked the device, I noticed several missed calls and text messages from my old number. Curiosity piqued, I opened the messages.

"Hey Jessica! Miles and I thought it would be fun to explore the nearby hiking trails and enjoy some time together. Don't worry, we'll be back later in the evening. I hope you're feeling better after last night. Remember to take it easy and rest up. We'll talk more when we get back! xx Nicky"

I knew I couldn't stay holed up in the room all day, waiting for Jessica and Miles to return. Taking a deep breath, I decided to seize the opportunity to explore Jessica's life. I had always wondered what it would be like to experience the world through someone else's eyes, and now I had a chance, albeit under unusual circumstances.

With a mixture of trepidation and curiosity, I grabbed Jessica's purse and swung it over my shoulder. As I made my way out of Miles' bedroom and into the living room, I couldn't help but feel a surge of adrenaline. The prospect of walking out into the city as Jessica filled me with a sense of anticipation and wonder.

A shop window across the street reflected my image back at me. I couldn't resist stealing a glance at my altered appearance. The woman staring back was undeniably Jessica, with her long, flowing hair, delicate features, and a subtle grace in her posture. It was a stark contrast to the familiar reflection I was accustomed to seeing.

With each step, my anticipation grew. The thought of entering Jessica's apartment, a place that held her secrets, dreams, and memories, made my heart race. I had no idea what I would find inside, but the mystery intrigued me.

Finally, I arrived at Jessica's apartment building. Standing in front of the entrance, I glanced around to ensure no one was watching. Taking a deep breath to steady myself, I discreetly retrieved Jessica's keys from her purse. The jingling sound sent a surge of nerves tingling down my spine, but I pushed forward, determined to unlock the door and step into her world.

As the door clicked open, I hesitated for a moment, a mixture of excitement and guilt washing over me. I reminded myself that I was merely exploring Jessica's life out of necessity, a consequence of the strange circumstances I found myself in. With that reassurance, I crossed the threshold and quietly closed the door behind me.
