A Second Chance - Part 2

My heart raced as I quickly let go of Kathy's breasts, backing away from the bed.

I turned towards the sound, panic swirling in my chest. The little girl’s voice belonged to Lily, their six-year-old daughter, who often bounced between the floors with boundless energy. I hadn’t even thought about what this meant for her.

“Hi Mommy!” she exclaimed, rushing towards me with open arms.

Instinct kicked in before I could stop it, and I knelt down to her level, wrapping Kathy’s arms around her as she squeezed my neck tightly. I awkwardly stroked her hair with my new, delicate fingers.

I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror across the room—long hair cascading over my shoulders, eyes wide and startled. This was really happening.

Just then, Sarah reemerged from the bathroom.

She paused in the doorway, eyes widening as she took in the scene.

"Daddy!" Lily squealed, releasing me from her embrace and bounding over to Sarah-as-Allan.

Sarah froze, her new masculine face a mask of panic. I could see her struggling to decide how to react as Lily wrapped her arms around Sarah's legs.

"Good morning, sweetie," Sarah managed to croak out in Allan's deep voice.

She awkwardly patted Lily's head, clearly uncomfortable.

Lily looked between us, her innocent gaze darting back and forth, “Mommy, Daddy, can we go to the park today? Please?”

I bit my lip, trying to think of how to respond while still holding this little girl who was clearly so excited to see me. Sarah stepped forward, her own expression a mix of confusion and panic.

“Uh, sure, sweetheart,” she said.

I gazed up at Sarah in Allan’s body. We should’ve been heading downstairs to confront Allan and Kathy in our bodies. But that would obviously have to wait.
