Play Date - Part 2

Jack sat by Julia’s kitchen table, staring at the bowl of Cheerios before him. He was quite sleep deprived after staying up late the night before getting to know his new body. Thankfully, it was a Saturday.

As Jack absentmindedly stirred the soggy cereal, his mind raced with thoughts of the previous night. He had spent hours in front of Julia's mirror, marveling at every curve and contour of her body. The guilt of his curiosity gnawed at him, but he couldn't help himself. He was living every teenage boy's fantasy, wasn't he?

"Julia, honey, are you feeling alright?" Mrs. Thompson –his supposed mother– asked, "You've barely touched your breakfast."

"Oh, uh, yeah. I'm fine, Mom," he stammered, still not used to hearing Julia's voice come out of his mouth, "Just... didn't sleep well last night."

Jack forced himself to take a bite of the soggy cereal, trying to ignore the strange sensation of eating in Julia's body.

Mrs. Thompson frowned, concern etching her features, "Are you sure? You've been acting strange since yesterday. Is everything okay with you and Abby?"

Jack's heart raced. He needed to act more like Julia or he'd blow his cover.

"Everything's fine with Abby," he said, forcing a smile, "I guess I'm just... spacey today."

“Don't forget, we have to pick out an outfit for Aunt Vicky's wedding today!"

Jack's eyes widened in panic. Shopping for a dress? With Julia's mom? He had no idea how to pick out women's clothing, let alone for a wedding.

"Oh, right," he said, trying to sound excited, "The wedding. Can't wait!"

Mrs. Thompson beamed, "I was thinking we could look for something in that lovely shade of red you like."

Jack nodded, grateful for the hint about Julia's preferences. He finished his cereal quickly, his mind racing to figure out how he was going to get through this shopping trip without raising suspicion.

As they drove to the mall, Jack's phone – well, Julia's phone – buzzed with a text. It was from his own number, which meant it had to be Julia in his body.

"How r u holding up?" the message read, "This is so weird. Ur sister is trying to help me act like you but it's so hard. Your dad keeps asking me about football and I don't know what to say!"

He quickly typed back: "Hanging in there. About to go dress shopping with your mom. Any advice?"

The reply came swiftly: "OMG good luck! Just act indecisive and she'll end up picking for you. And PLEASE don't look at my body too much. This is already weird enough."

Jack chuckled to himself, remembering his curious exploration the night before. He pushed the thought aside as they pulled into the mall parking lot.
