Four months had passed since the swap. I was six months pregnant now.
I stood in front of the full-length mirror, examining my swollen belly and enlarged breasts. At six months pregnant, there was no hiding the baby bump anymore. I ran my hands over the smooth, taut skin, marveling at how my body—Allison's body—had changed.
"How are you feeling today?" Allison asked, coming up behind me and wrapping her arms around my waist.
"Tired," I admitted, leaning back against her.
We stood in silence for a moment, both lost in thought. Then Allison spoke again, her voice hesitant.
"Gabe... if we don't switch back... would you be okay with that?”
I knew that the prospect of us ever switching back was getting slimmer by the day. I had just never seen myself as a mother.
“Well, I’d have to be okay with that, right? I don’t really have a choice.”
“You know… I kind of like being the man in this relationship. I know it sounds crazy, but I've gotten used to being in your body. And... I kind of love it. The strength, the ease of movement. Not having to deal with periods or pregnancy symptoms."
"Plus," Allison continued, "I really enjoy being able to pleasure you in new ways. Seeing you come undone beneath me... it's intoxicating."
A shiver ran down my spine at her words. I had to admit, the sex had been incredible since the swap. Experiencing pleasure from a woman's perspective was unlike anything I'd ever imagined.
I turned to face Allison, taking in her familiar features - my old features. Her eyes were filled with a mix of love, desire, and uncertainty.
"I... I think I understand," I said softly, "Being in your body, experiencing pregnancy and all these new sensations - it's been overwhelming at times, but also kind of amazing."
I placed a hand on my swollen belly, feeling a flutter of movement beneath my palm, "And this little one... I never thought I'd be the one carrying our child, but now I can't imagine it any other way."
Allison's hand joined mine on my stomach, "So you're okay with this? With us staying like this?"
I nodded slowly, "I think I am. It's not what we planned, but... I love you, Allison. No matter what bodies we're in."
