“Think of all the things you can do now that you’re a grown up! Like go to the movies and stuff! You could get into R-rated ones, no problem.”
Fred stared down at his new body, at the way the pajamas clung to him.
“I guess…”
“You can, like, buy as much candy as you want. No one can stop you!”
But Fred was busy feeling around his face, looking for something. A release, maybe.
Fred frowned, “It’s got to come off somehow.”
“What’s this?” Billy pulled back the hair from Fred’s neck and pointed.
There was a small rubber seam that ran along the base of Fred’s skull.
“Get it! Get it!” Fred hissed, his body trembling with anticipation.
Billy’s fingers scrambled, digging at the seam, pulling with all his might. There was a moment of tension, and then—
POP!
It was off. The mask dangled in Billy’s grasp, flimsy and limp. Fred looked at his own hands, his own bare chest.
He was a boy again.
“Whoa,” Fred’s voice was back to normal, back to his own, filled with awe and relief.
Billy gaped at him, then at the mask.
He was laughing now, a wild, disbelieving sound, “That was insane!”
Fred grinned, his body still buzzing from the change, “No kidding!”
“Okay, I wanna try now!” Billy grabbed the mask and pulled it over his head before Fred could convince him otherwise
“Whoa,” he said, his voice already changing, “This is…”
The mask was merging with him, the seam disappearing into the skin of his neck. His t-shirt and underwear pulled tight against his body, the transformation rapid, thrilling. Billy’s blonde hair shot out in brunette strands, growing long and messy.
Fred stared, wide-eyed, unable to speak.
Billy’s face took on the features of a woman, cheekbones rising, lips fuller.
His voice rose, becoming breathy and higher, “This is so weird!”
Fred couldn’t believe how fast it was happening, how easily. He watched Billy’s chest swell.
Billy laughed, giddy, “This is awesome!”
The t-shirt hugged his new curves, his form complete, seamless.
Fred shook his head in awe, “It didn’t hurt?”
Billy shrugged, hair falling over his eyes, “A little.”
His hands flew to his chest, “Now I’m Erica!”
